Now former X Factor judge Demi has turned on her own fans, blasting them for threatening to kill the controversial comedian.
Demi Lovato’s fans have threatened to kill Kathy Griffin for insulting their idol – and Demi’s not having any of it.
Predictably, comedian Kathy telling the world that former X Factor judge Demi was the biggest ‘douche celebrity’ she’d ever met, didn’t go over amazingly with the singer and her fans but this response may be a little over the top.
During a late-night Q&A on Twitter earlier this week, the fiery comedian was asked who was the biggest “douche celebrity” she had met , and in typical Kathy style, quickly responded with: “Probably Debbie [Demi] Lovato. Plus she should calm the f down bout Lady Gaga gettin barfed on (sic).”
In response, Debbie Demi tweeted a picture of herself with a face on, with the caption: “Only a “douche” to people I can’t stand.” Miaow.
But then – after Demi deleted her message – a small number of the Heart Attack singer’s fans – the Lovatics as they’re known – decided to take it further by sending DEATH THREATS to the My Life on the D-List star.
“If I had a gun and I had 2 bullets left, i’d shoot you twice b****,” wrote one. Another launched a foulmouthed tirade ranting: “you motherf***** shut the f*** don’t ever speak about Demi or we will kill you.”
Kathy quoted another who tweeted: “slit your throat you ugly b**** you deserve cancer i hope your whole familys burns to the ground.(sic)”
A small number of Demi’s fans also attempted to get two hashtages trending by tweeting “KathyGriffinDeservesAids” and “#LovaticsWantKathyGriffinToGetRaped” at the comedian and by then Demi had had it with her fans.
“I love you guys so much,” she wrote on Twitter. “But y’all gotta chill with sending hate towards other people. Regardless of what they say or do.. The cruel things some of you are saying can really, REALLY hurt people.
“It’s called cyber-bullying and somethings should NEVER be wished upon EVER. No matter WHAT. It makes me so sad to see how mean people can really be after all I’ve spoken out about anti-bullying.
“Be an example for other haters. I know my #Lovatics are better than that. I really appreciate you guys always having my back but this is going way too far. Please spread [love heart] not hate….”
The former X Factor USA judge also sent Kathy an apology directly, writing: “@KathyGriffin No one should ever wish those things upon ANYONE. I apologize on others behalf. I do NOT approve of that at all. Sorry 4 that.”
